Soak aluminum for at least a minute before rubbing.
My husband and I bought a 15 year old boat that was used in the sea. The diamond plate and the aluminum were in poor condition. I tried at least ten different products to remove oxidation before trying this aluminum oxide on my boat. The picture speaks for itself. To achieve this result I had to soak a microfiber cloth in aluminum dioxide and then hold the cloth over the aluminum for a minute before wiping. This appears to allow the product to stop oxidizing. I'm so happy I found this little bottle of gold!
