I had high hopes for the Anker brand. But it didn't work with my M1 Mac and Intel Mac. Overall impression: 1. Easy to install2. Good cable that can work with both USB A and USB C3. Professional looking case. Issue: After installing a critical NVME drive in the Anker enclosure, I was able to quickly connect to my Mac M1 and download a 100GB file through the enclosure. However, after I removed and reconnected the drive, my M1 and Intel Mac no longer showed the drive. Mac saw Realtek chipset over USB in system report. However, Disk Utility just didn't show the drive. I restarted both my Macs; I waited a few days, hoping the drive would come to life; The disc just didn't show up. So I got an Asus nvme case, replaced nvme and plugged it into my mac. The drive then showed up on both my Macs and my previous data is still there. Interestingly, I then switched nvme back to the Anker enclosure, both my Macs see the drive through the Anker enclosure. I can't tell what happened, somehow the anchor case could have caused NVME not to show up. And how can the Asus case solve the problem and bring NVME back to life? After that, the anchor body can display it again. However, I cannot rely on the Anker case in this case. I love Anker products. Just not this one.
