Review on ๐Ÿ“ฆ Pelican 1510 Case With Customizable Padded Dividers in Black by Amanda Davis

BIG; BUT. (PELICAN ATTENTION) (WITH UPDATE 2019)

Extremely durable. I use a suitcase instead of a trolley briefcase for my workday, which costs about $100 each and lasts maybe six months at my job. I've had it for almost two years now and after a few modifications the pelican's body works great. The first thing I did was add an organizer to the lid and then ditch the wheels. The stock Pelican wheels couldn't handle the cobbles here in Sydney so I went to Revain and ordered some inline skate wheels. I bought shoulder bolts the same diameter as the bearings at a local hardware store and installed them on the outside of the stock wheel wells. This doesn't make the body wider, but it increases ground clearance and improves stability, since the wheelbase increases by about two inches. Watch out for the pelican: the wheels are a major downside, along with the weight; but I can't change much about the weight. UPDATE 2019: I have been using this item daily for over five years. It has been beaten, mistreated and abused all over the world. He fell off the truck, was caught by wheels and fell 20 feet out of the plane's cargo hold. It's scratched, dented, nicked and generally looks like crap. But it still works great and has never let me down. And there are no wheels. At some point I used it to bring wine from Chile and Argentina. Six bottles are perfect (along with essentials for a 3 day trip) and none are broken. There's a reason it's not cheap. You get what you pay for.
