Review on 🔧 TeraFlex 4838150 Alpha Hinged Carrier and HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mounting Kit for JK/JKU - Complete by Marcus Hargrave

This is my second rotating Teraflex HD carrier that I have purchased. This is the first time I've bought it through Krawl Off-Road through Revain. I ordered it on Monday 25th November and received it on Monday 2nd December. Not bad considering it was during Thanksgiving and it wasn't Prime. My experience with Krawl wasn't great, but I've read a lot of good things about them on other Jeep forums. My experience was probably 1%. Either way, a trunk is a strong, lightweight alternative to a bumper and trunk combination. It's cheaper, lighter, looks almost factory made, opens and closes with the same handle as the tailgate, and is easy to customize to your liking. I run 35 inch Nittos which are pretty heavy and my tailgate is rock solid now. I like to keep the spare tire as close to the net as possible. Installation can take up to 2 hours. If you don't have a bolt press, this can take even longer. The biggest hurdle with this setup is getting the three included screws through the collar plate. A good press of a ton (or more) should help. Luckily my stepfather had one. After that, simply follow the included installation guide or follow the installation guide on YouTube via the Teraflex channel. Go ahead and prepare your standard automotive lube and Loctite. The instructions require it, and it's helpful. The kit version I received had a different third brake light mounting bracket than the Revain product image. My first Teraflex Hinged Carrier Kit which was on my 2012 Unlimited Sport came with the mount shown in the picture. The kit I just received from Kraul who will be attending my 2014 Unlimited Rubicon was a little different. Both still do the same job, except the latter doesn't have the surface area to put a license plate on. This only applies to the third brake light. All in all I would recommend this to anyone who has a JK and wants to lighten their butt a bit!
