I am 5 feet 5 inches tall and weigh 190 pounds. I bought XL and it fits well. It would be perfect if the shirt didn't attach to the pants like a one-piece jumpsuit. The shorts pull up at the top as you walk. The loose piece of fabric on the shorts is actually really helpful for those of us with thick thighs as the shorts go up and the extra fabric goes down to help against chafing and the fact to hide your ha ha eating shorts. I can see that someone who doesn't want extra coverage would have preferred just shorts, but I was grateful for the extra fabric. It's not the most comfortable outfit because of the breeches, but other than that it was very cute and I'll be wearing it again for a beach vacation this summer.
