Review on 🦉 Night Owl Indoor Security Microphone for Enhanced Surveillance by April Schol

I wrote this review so you don't make the same mistake I did. I want Night Owl to say they don't work with the most popular brands of video surveillance systems. We see the audio input on the Lorex NVR. I assumed everything would be fine, but don't be fooled! I plugged this thing in and then wondered why I wasn't getting any sound. The "Audio" option was greyed out and could not be activated. As a normal person, I read the manual at that moment and found that Lorex PoE camera systems only record audio when it comes from a PoE camera with a microphone and transmits the audio through an Ethernet cable. They state that the audio input on the back of the NVR is for production testing only! Why label a jack as an audio input if the customer doesn't need it? I took a star off Night Owl because they should have known this already but didn't say it wouldn't work with newer Lorex PoE systems.
