I don't think this is a fake; instead, it's probably a Sandisk, whose products are known for being buggy. I made a long-ago promise not to bring a Sandisk, but my father, who is an expert with electronics, gave me a flash drive. There was some sort of partitioned, unreadable file system on an unopened flash device. Diskpart formatting in Windows did not function. I had to re-create the partition table, format it with Linux, and "score" with "zeroes". The copying of photographs appeared to go smoothly, but some of the copied photos did not open on the flash drive. I tried a different flash drive, and everything worked just fine. However, there are issues with this one because the speed suddenly drops off while copying at one point. Several of the photos on this flash drive could still not be read, could only be read incorrectly, or could not be opened, no matter what I did with it or what file systems I used. In general, I strongly advise against using Sandisk ate: I contacted technical support, and they requested that I mail the letter to Hong Kong. they sent one after I sent one that was broken. While it functions well. Evidently, these flash disks had a flaw in some component.
