Feel like a caveman who just got burned. I've been using an old analog caliper for decades. And it has always served me well. But for a while I wanted to try a digital caliper. The only question I have is why it took me so long!? This is amazing stuff. It's smooth, fast and accurate. The display is clear and easy to read. The dial rotates easily and without slipping. Going from fractions to inches and millimeters takes very little time. As fast as pressing a button. The user interface is simple and intuitive. Another major difference between this and my old one is the weight. This one is much harder. It helps that it comes with a storage and carrying case. I wouldn't put it in my shirt pocket. Overall, I feel like I've gone from a rotary phone to a smartphone. Now I finally understand regret.
