This is much better than the stock remote as it has physical volume buttons. Unfortunately I can't get it to turn on my Shield in my settings (TV/AMP/Shield). I flipped the power switch to IR and turned on my TV which turned on my amp, but the amp doesn't use CEC to turn on the Shield. So it takes 2 buttons to turn everything on. (Power + any other key to activate the shield). The power button works to turn everything off. I'm pretty sure it's just a function of my hardware's HDMI-CEC functionality - BUT - it looks like the power button has a mode where it sends both the original BT power-on command and an IR command sends instead of one. or but. Then it will work wonderfully. Also, Nvidia just released a new remote control with their Shield 2019/2020. For an additional $15, you can get an upgraded Nvidia remote. I could do it if I had the choice, but I didn't.
