Review on DANCO Chrome Snap-In Grid Tub Strainer - Steel Construction, 2-Inch Size, 1-Set (88930) by Jason Epstein

No more plastic caps!

I've always used plastic drain filters to keep my bathtub drain free of hair clogs. Unfortunately, my dogs like to take them out of the bath and chew them. Eventually I decided to find one made out of metal that they didn't want to eat! Metal drain filters are ridiculously expensive so I was happy to find this one for little more than a cheap plastic filter. Its wider holes allow water to drain freely, but it still seems to capture most of the hair! Some of the plastic filters I've used have been almost impossible to clean due to hair tangling around parts of them, but this one wipes out almost completely. It also didn't get any nasty mold stains, as is always the case with plastic. I was a bit disappointed at first because it didn't fit my sink, but then I realized you can bend the metal legs for a perfect fit! It seems a bit flimsy (I wouldn't step on it!) but so far it's done an excellent job. Will definitely buy again even if it breaks.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Something's wrong
