Review on πŸ’ͺ AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 Black Edition: 6-Core Processor with Unparalleled Performance by Michal Machnicki ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

So, Bulldozer VS Piledriver. What have AMD engineers improved? - increased branch prediction accuracy - added support for several ISA extensions (a version called FMA4 and allows instructions to have up to four operands - compared to Haswell, Intel uses a simpler FMA3 instruction set with three operands, so AMD retains this advantage) - added F16C extension (compiler level support added in Visual Studio 2022 only) - integer core (two execution units and two address generation units) - AGen, now they can process MOV instructions. When AGen block activity is low, the architecture will redirect MOV instructions on these channels - increased the fast translation buffer (TLB) for the L1 cache from 32 to 64 entries. Because L2 TLB has a fairly high 20 clock latency, increasing the L1 cache hit rate can significantly improve performance in data-intensive applications. This is especially true for server environments, however, according to AMD engineers, some games are also sensitive to this, although they did not expect this. - hardware sampling in L2 has also been improved. The minimum latency hasn't changed, which is why Sandra 2022's cache latency hasn't improved. However, the prefetcher and L2 cache are used more efficiently, and AMD says average latency (very hard to measure) should be reduced. As a result, in terms of performance per core and per clock cycle, Piledriver can outperform the Bulldozer design by 15%.

Pros
  • Compared to Bul, Pilik has become faster, cheaper (while becoming a goodcompetitor for i5), and more efficient. The percentage of speed gain has become higher than that of Intel with their Sandy Evie Haswell. Solder under the lid, unlike modern Iviks (3000 generation) and Haswells (4000 generation), where ordinary thermal paste is painted (ated Devil Canyons dropped 10-12C in load, although there is still NOT solder, but improved thermal paste). The platform is generally cheaper than thecompetitor. And finally - fresh tests from a real user, so to speak - . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg . Jpg .
Cons
  • - 32nm process technology - in idle and load it consumes more than Intel processors (but we still don’t seem to pay 0.5 bucks per / kWh, so it’s not particularly critical) - it’s not very suitable for single-threaded programs (although the first desktop 4-core processor Q6600 appeared OH MY GOD already at the end of 2022), and we live .

Proc is excellent. I advise everyone. There is no point in paying. All games are running at maximum speed. (+RX 570)
