Review on ๐Ÿ’ฆ Waterproof Wireless Handsfree Donerton Bluetooth (Blue) by Brandon Woodson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pretty good and loud sound. All in all it could be better for the price.

This Bluetooth speaker is loud enough in the shower with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. I keep the phone in one of the rooms nearby and it hasn't had any hiccups with such use. I've only experimented briefly with the FM radio mode but the instructions are very minimal, I haven't listened to FM for several years and not at all where I live now so I have no idea what stations to expect so I did I given turn on the radio mode before trying it fully. So far I've only tried the speaker three days in a row playing parts of The Witcher (music from a Netflix original series) by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli and it sounds great. The suction cup on the back works great. . I wet it before putting it in the shower. When temporarily placing it on another smooth, flat surface, I make sure the suction cup hangs slightly over the edge because it stuck too well and was difficult to remove. Where I place it in the shower I can just slide it to the edge of the shower stall for easy removal. It seems to remember what volume you last set it to, even though it can't control your phone. Bluetooth carrier volume level, and some phones will automatically lower that volume every time you connect via bluetooth, but that's not the fault of this bluetooth speaker. For the first three days, at least when using it in the shower, I couldn't detect any obvious distortions when everything was cranked up. On the fourth day, I heard distortion on a specific track of the above soundtrack. So far, the impregnation has been very effective. The attached connector that protects the charging port seems solid enough to protect it, although I'm a little scared that I'll accidentally rip it out of the 'hinge' one day, but that fear might not be very justified . I don't have usable fingernails so it was difficult to unplug to charge, hence my fear that one day I might overdo it and tear it down. I am disappointed in several things. Biggest disappointments: 1. The price seems a bit high. I haven't done much research on how much similar products cost, and my experience with Bluetooth speakers is still minimal, so this is just my gut reaction. When you turn it on or plug it in to charge, the light comes on no matter how you set it the last time you used it - it doesn't remember how you set the light the last time you used it. When I can see the light, I find it distracting and annoying. When the indicator lights up while charging, I have to press the "TWS" button many times (the instructions don't say what that means) to switch between the lighting modes, until the display goes out. If you just turn on the speaker you want to use, you only need to press the "TWS" button twice to turn off the light. I'd rather have a minimal LED to show when it's charging and when it's full. I have no idea if the gauges show full or low battery in either mode. See #3 below.3. As for charging, the instructions say: charge it for five hours before using it for the first time. I haven't followed this strictly, but I've found that my phone that I've connected to it shows the speaker's estimated battery level when it's on. I say allegedly because what has been reported so far has been contradictory. When I first turned it on it was 90%. The second time it was 80%. After an hour of loading he said 90% and after another hour he said 80%. All of this was before I actively used it for over a minute for testing, and I turned it off between each battery check while charging. After every four days of use he said 80%. As I use it and have more information about the battery percentage I will edit my review. Minor frustrations: A. It uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C. At this price point, I think there should be a more reliable USB-C instead. It's a relatively small thing, but USB-C has been around for at least four and a half years now, and it's being used by more and more different devices - Android, wireless headphones, even Macs, and an end to the new iPhone chargers and I can barely use it expect, that Micro-USB disappears completely. At least it comes with a USB-A -> Micro-USB cable, and it's longer than those that come with some accessories. I'm trying to remember to check if the device is using USB-C or Micro-USB, but sometimes I forget. It annoys me that when you turn it on, the voice comes on, it's in bluetooth mode and connected. This is in common with the only other Bluetooth speakers I have which are much smaller. are not waterproof and were free for me from the company I bought the furniture from. Not sure if another way (easily) would be better and it's just a minor annoyance. I think the cat is afraid of it too. :) VERY small moment: 1a. Despite the fact, Because the charging port is so well protected from moisture by the built-in cover, I tend to want to turn the speaker so the port is all the way down. Rotated like this, the power button is at the top left. I think it hardly bothers my OCD. I tend to turn the speaker so the connector is all the way down.
