I wasn't at all sure I would like this fan. It actually seems darn small, and I was skeptical of how useful it would be in my ever-too-warm/hot apartment. BUT, the fan switches from speed 1, which is a gentle wind and is quiet (I was concerned about that too) when used at night, to speed 4, which is a fairly strong wind. It may be small, but it's powerful enough - and portable enough to be amazing. The battery arrived almost fully charged, although I charged it first anyway. The oscillation worked perfectly. At level 1 and fluctuating throughout the night, the battery didn't even drop 1 of the 4 battery light levels. It took me a minute to understand the controls and I had to laugh at the instructions, which are written in understandable English but not the way we speak it. Oscillation is the "headshake function". My favorite: Please confirm that the scope and possibilities for using this product are limited, acts contrary to public order are prohibited. "Okay, got it. "Don't hit or drop this product, it can easily cause internal problems." I can laugh, but it's understandable, so take it easy. It's a really great product and i have had it for a couple of weeks so thanks to the manufacturer!
