They connected easily to our van's DVD system. It was as easy as "insert batteries, turn on, listen!" Sound is good, headphones fit perfectly. I liked the fact that I could connect the headphones to my phone or MP3 player with the auxiliary cable (included) for listening to alternative things on long journeys. The reason for the 1 star rating is this: After a month of light use (with careful handling to put the headphones in their (included) holders) they broke. The audio played, but the earphone completely detached from the headband. That makes it impossible to wear headphones, making them completely unusable.
