This is a nice, simple tool for marking 1/4 inch intersections and trimming triangles so they can line up. I also used it to measure 1/4 inch to check needle position. I love having tools that can do multiple things and are small enough to fit in my sewing bag. I agree with other reviewers that the gold paint wears off fairly quickly making the lines less visible. Aside from that little quibble, it's a commonly used tool in my arsenal. I'm starting to find newer quilt patterns that now come premade with a corner trim, but this takes care of any size patch for trimming - no need to search for the right pattern. I'm also considering buying rulers and guides from this company as they seem to be designed to work together. For the reviewers who said there are no instructions for this product. It comes with an instruction booklet. If you don't understand the diagrams, you can go to the website which has detailed animated steps to follow.
