The main pocket can be opened on the top - this was it creates a wide rectangle opening. Or that pocket can be opened from the front side of the bag which gives you access to the main pouch as well as a pencil slip pocket with 5 large loops - there are also two short slip pockets on the inside.Overall: a great bag, especially if you want to take an entire small to medium set of supplies with you when you’re on the go.
