Like scissors, the farther from the handle the easier it is to cut. For example, I cut my grape tomatoes closer to the front end and ended up with a mashed tomato rather than a sliced one. But when cutting from behind it cuts clean. I would say that for most raw vegetables you need to cut off the back. Works fine, but I'll probably use a knife instead. Or maybe it takes more practice to use it properly. You still need to cut large items into smaller ones to use this. Also, I'm not using it as fast as the online demo says.
