The hair stays completely dry. I like that it fits snugly on my head but it's really a bit uncomfortable due to the material on the elastic. The density is great for a shower cap but the material is kind of a rough vinyl and because it's so dense it almost hurts my forehead and sometimes leaves a streak when I take it off. They really should have been fed. the inside of the elastic with something soft, like the inside of the hat itself. That would make this thing seriously perfect. I'm considering modifying it myself to alleviate this small issue. Overall I'm pretty happy because it's so much better than those disposable plastic caps. Also, I'm a guy, and while no one has ever seen me in it, I'm glad I found something good with a gender-neutral look.
