This is the best/cheapest air jacket you will find. It's true the protection isn't the best as it was designed for leisure travel and was crash tested at 48mph. The mesh isn't the thickest compared to more expensive jackets that protect you better on longer descents. That's the problem; I'm an experienced rider in Florida and would rather wear a jacket I can handle than a heavier/heavier jacket to leave at home. Bottom line, it's better than nothing. As other reviewers have said the spine protector is foam and I will be investing in their spine and chest protectors. I wish the neck was shorter as it sits on my Adam's apple. The rest of the landing is excellent. I'm 5ft 11", 190lbs and bought the large one. Very large was too large that I tried on. I paid Florida tax even though this item shipped from Kentucky :/
