Very powerful like my old OtterBox but cheaper, I love it for that. It feels very secure and like it's about to fall, but it's easy to hold so I can't imagine him dropping it. It's heavy in the hand, but that doesn't bother me. The size and position of the hand holder was clearly designed for large male hands. I can't use this function for that. The stand works great when the iPad is in a horizontal position. But when held upright, it's too heavy and doesn't support iPad. I only bought it for the protection and durability and this is why. 100% functional
