A long time ago I had a 120 with a black handle and gave it to a dear friend. Many years later I ordered a replacement brass and wood version. I've read reviews and seen photos where the insides of the valleys were rough and unfinished, but mine was completely filled in and finished. Another nice upgrade is a scabbard catch instead of nasty hooks and loops that scooped up dirt and detritus like a magnet on an old model scabbard. I know from past experience that the Buck 120 can handle a wider range of tasks and jobs than a number of other knives, do them well and still keep the edge sharp.
