Advertised as a hot water cartridge replacement option. Good luck with it. Water splashes everywhere! The water lines must be shut off with this filter or your whole house will be flooded no matter how hard you turn the bypass valve. The only reason for 2 stars is that it filters my water for 3-5 months between cartridge changes. .----Update: This product is WAY overpriced! I just found it at Menards (exact same model) for less than $16 - on sale. Retail 18.99. I also exchanged the entire filter unit for one without a bypass valve, since it was constantly leaking, and shut-off valves were installed on both sides.
