I wouldn't buy this - I wall mounted this scale to give it consistent and consistent performance. Old batteries or using a USB connected to a computer can cause problems, so I've eliminated that factor. My scale is on a level surface. I can put the same package on the scale and get completely different weight readings every time. I'm not talking about a few ounces either. I've gotten readings ranging from 5.2 oz to 1 lb 5 oz - all for the same 14 oz pack. I have included several images in my review demonstrating this - all images show the same package at different weights. I do NOT recommend this scale. Thumbs down. I am shocked at how inaccurate this scale is. Maybe mine really ripped or something and broke, but I'm sure
