I've wanted a soft close seat for a long time and when I got a bidet and the accompanying literature pointed to a custom made soft close seat I thought why not? While my original seat worked well with the bidet despite the gap near the back, I figured this custom seat would better integrate the bidet with no gaps. no The back of the lid rises even higher through the bidet. Installation was a bit fiddly (multiple pieces) compared to my original seat. The soft close feature is good and the price was reasonable so I'll keep it. If you're not already looking for a new cap or hoping to bridge the gap, don't worry.
