Bought a few weeks ago. Just installed. If I didn't have to dismantle all parts of the previous gate control and somehow get to the fittings, it would take about four hours. If you installed it earlier, probably after a few hours. The instructions were very good with one or two exceptions. I may have missed it in the instructions but my device wasn't working so I called for help. I had to push the end of the control lever to connect to the mechanism inside. Then I had to twist/screw the end several times. Then it worked. No other big problems. A small problem was that my medium sized fingers couldn't fit the nuts into the gate bracket. The body was too narrow. The solution (for those not mechanically inclined) was to use pliers to place and twist the nut to start. The pliers did not look from the side, but directly inwards. Then I used a socket wrench with an extension. But it doesn't matter. Another thing if you have a long 3/8 bit you can use it, as far as I remember the instructions were for a different size. The resulting hole was quite narrow. In fact, I "trimmed" the drill bit to make it a little bigger, and then drilled through the bolt. I say punch because you don't want to hit the bolt hard and you might want to strip the strings. Cons There isn't much to talk about if you ask for help when you need it instead of spending a few days trying to figure it all out. . The previous one had a lot of free play. The motor stopped, but the gate moved a few inches, up to a foot. I haven't seen any play with the ghost block, plus it completely slows down when opening and closing. The guide is excellent. Customer service is the best I have ever used. The agent was waiting for me to come to my gate and guided me step by step with clear instructions. And I didn't have to wait forever for my call. I also have a real person unless it was an android. But okay if it were. I am not biased. Just a caveat. I've only been using this for a few days. At midnight, he can turn into a pumpkin.
