Review on 🔧 OEMTOOLS 24398 Fuel Tank Lock Ring Tool: Fits Ford, Chrysler, and GM Vehicles, 1/2 Inch Drive Compatible, Green by Ron Houston

After trying to remove the retaining ring without tools, I gave up and ordered a tool. I'm glad I did. Remove the locking ring with a tool in less than a minute. I used a 1/2" drive with a 24" breaker. Loosening requires a lot of torque. A note about this tool. As many other reviewers have pointed out, the tabs in this tool are too long and need to be cleared. I used a bench grinder and easily trimmed them to the correct height. Given all of these comments pointing out the problem, I'm surprised the tool manufacturer hasn't fixed the issue yet. Well that's all made in China. If you don't have a bench grinder or don't want to rebuild your new tool, just buy the OTC 6599 instead. It costs a little more, but you don't have to rebuild it. I decided to save money and fix it myself.
