This reading tells me if my nitrogen in the water is good, or if I'm adding a lot of nitrogen, or if it's still there.
Here's what you need when testing ppm around 800-1000ppm I use it to test fertilizers with the water I will be using. This reading tells me if my nitrogen is good in the water or if I'm adding too much or if more is needed. I aim for 600ppm for all plants, you will also need distilled water for your test, after getting the right amount of fertilizer use whatever plant water you want to use. Now you have to consider that well water or service water is different in both cases. check both at the end, write it down, aim for that ppm next time.
