These are the perfect size for African Violet miniatures (or starters). I personally use the wicking method. The drainage hole on the bottom is perfect. (I replaced the cute shallow bamboo saucer with a deeper dish). These could also be placed in a tray or suitable jar for wicking. These will also work excellent if you only bottom water. The bamboo saucer is shallow so you may want to use another dish while your plant soaks up the water, then replace the bamboo saucer for aesthetic reasons, or use an entirely different saucer altogether.Not only do I wick but I also dome my mini’s. My baby mini’s have grown considerably since repotting them out of the solo cups they came in, (and doming them).I took the domes off for the photos.Confession I am fairly new to mini AV’s and AV’s in general. I originally repotted some in 3” pots which were way too big for them, those were not thriving well. These small succulent pots have made all the difference. Now I repot directly to these.
