I highly recommend it for newborns. We bought another brand and then realized we might need more if it needed washing so ended up buying two of these. They are a lot softer than the first brand we bought. We use her in her bassinet and another bed she sleeps in during the day. We have found that they help baby sleep on their own and be more comfortable in their bassinet. She likes to put her legs up when she sleeps, so a pillow on the bottom will help her stay up. The pads are washable, making them easy to keep clean when baby burps. We only use these when baby is supervised and I would recommend discontinuing use once baby is able to roll over, but I find this to be a great product for newborns and would recommend it to friends who are currently using it are pregnant.
