It's better than damaging the countertop, but I have $10 bamboo cutting boards I bought from Ross/TJ Max that hold up better. They retain the smell of EVERYTHING you cut into. Sweet.,. Which only enhances the taste. If they are not lubricated with oil, they will discolour. and the surface will be easier to damage. They do the job, the docking/drying station is cool and very handsome. but as soon as these things fall apart, I will not replace them with the same ones.
