These things are ROK! Few have ever kept my backpack secure on my 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster. Necessary. I've traveled 1500 miles in a 5 day trip and camped in eastern Washington and my loads haven't shifted at all, even reaching a long distance of 85 mph. My backpack weighed about 30 pounds and only used a couple of straps! Now only one. Two straps from 12 to 42 inches fit perfectly for the tent, sleeping bag and my ground trap, which I hung on a sissy bar stand. For your larger items like my riding backpacks I used 2 ROK straps from 18" to 60". I love these things
