I work in sales and travel a lot for work. If you plan on occasional private trips, I am regularly in airports and hotels. Any seller can tell you that there is an ongoing struggle to find the most efficient delta between transporting enough items to keep you comfortable on the road and at your destination. In other words, I needed a bag that could be carried upstairs, had room for a laptop and could hold at least 3 days' worth of clothes plus an endless list of keys and bits and bobs. I tried a suitcase with a built-in laptop compartment and had enough room for "tight" clothes for a few days, but that meant I had to take the suitcase everywhere on multi-day business trips. Traveling from the hotel to my appointments with a bulky suitcase wasn't ideal, so I ended up resorting to my roll-top and laptop combo. A friend came to visit a few months ago and took his Cotapaxi bag with him. Obviously, I was intrigued by this new discovery because I always assumed my answer would lie in the trunks realm. When I questioned him, I found that not only was he excited about it, but he also packed a small studio apartment into it. My only doubts about Cotapaxi were the price (it was $200) and the color scheme. Business travel can be a fun beast depending on which part of the country you are traveling to. Living out west, I don't think I'll have a problem showing up to a meeting with a big backpack per se, but east of the Mississippi I'm not comfortable with a big "motley" backpack. However, definitely intrigued. Unfortunately(?) my trusty 10 year old laptop bag finally gave up its last breath on a recent trip and it's time to pull the trigger. I don't remember how I came across this bag, but after initial research it seemed to fit the bill: one bag for everyone, one color and a good price. Also, I could tuck away the straps to make it look more like a padded bag than a backpack. Ready. After several business and personal trips, I can say with some reservations that this bag has untied my personal Gordian knot. I have just returned from a 4 day trip, the longest ever, with just this bag and it passed it with flying colors. We're talking about 4 days of clothes, various things, 2 mobile phones, a bag with keys, a tablet, a small laptop and various odds and ends. The only issues I have with this bag are: - As you would expect, it gets heavy. It's not the bag's fault, it's the nature of the animal, but it leads to my biggest complaint, which is that the underside of the shoulder straps don't "grip" enough that I have to adjust them. frequently. This becomes more of a problem when you're wearing heavier clothes like oxford shirts, wool jackets, or raincoats. Thus, both belts must be used, which leads to the next and final problem. My back tends to get warm under all the weight and bag stuff when I'm walking around airports. If I had to go to Phoenix in the middle of summer I would hesitate to take this bag with me. Ultimately, these are trivial complaints compared to the original problem they solved. I didn't have time for this, but I think with a little superglue and some sticky stuff I can easily fix this problem myself. All in all, I can honestly and wholeheartedly recommend this bag to all travel enthusiasts.
