poor control, inability to achieve stable results. Hatred of this product grows as you use it.

Just started but am a bit frustrated that I don't have control over things like permission or even the ability to disable page break detection and scan page at a time at the required speed. first impression very promising product, very limited software. Update - I've been using the scanner for a little longer and am more convinced that this is the software I don't like. I'm having trouble getting consistent results because there seems to be some sort of auto-cropping going on that turns my scans into a hodgepodge despite careful placement efforts. This is COMPLETELY unnecessary. Just stop "thinking" and follow the instructions. They don't even have a TWAIN driver that would allow at least some better software to use the scanner. I give 1 star - that's what I deserve when my work efforts go to waste. Don't buy it, get something better. Update - I actually went to the trouble of making a rigid breadboard, mastered the base of the scanner and centered it perfectly. I included layout lines to ensure each page fits perfectly. However, the "intelligence" of the program insists on not scanning the area, as I've suggested, but choosing the layout the way it wanted (obviously not centered). Again, COMPLETELY unnecessary. Someone at Fujitsu needs to understand the concept of consistent results. To be honest I want to like this product but the amount of rescanning and wasted work rules it out. No matter how perfectly I design each page, I ALWAYS end up with a high percentage of random crawl areas. I can't understand how this POS can't just stare at one point and get the job done. This will probably be the last Fujitsu product I will buy. Each use makes me think less of their creators.
