Lightweight and Durable: A Beyond by BLACK+DECKER 12- and 16-Foot Tape Set Overview

brake at my well - used 25 The tape measure on the Stanley PowerLock II started to slip so I started looking for a replacement. I decided to try the extreme with the BLACK+DECKER 12ft and 16ft tape measure set made in Thailand. My Stanley tape measure weighs about 13.7 ounces, while a 12 foot tape measure weighs 3.8 ounces and a 16 foot tape measure weighs 6.6 ounces. The reduced weight of the 12ft tape measure doesn't weigh down my pants and fits most of my projects. I still have a Stanley if needed, but lean towards the BLACK+DECKER options for most of my measurements. The main difference lies in the handle release function. Using my Stanley tape measure, I pull and latch the bar. To unlock the BLACK+DECKER handle, the lock must be disengaged to be able to pull the rod and standard locks. It takes a little getting used to, but I find it useful in many cases. This set makes a great gift or perfect for building your first tool kit. The Beyond by BLACK+DECKER 12' and 16' tape measure set is suitable for most DIY projects.

Pros
  • MORE CONTROL DURING USE: The self-locking tape measure blade stays extended and GripRelease technology ensures a smooth and controlled retraction
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
