We have an Ooma system that gives us a free phone over the internet. Voice quality is excellent, but the lame cordless phone that came with the system finally died after about a year. Completely dead. After six months of running into the computer room every time the phone rang, it finally occurred to me to add a different brand of cordless phone to my setup. After reading all the reviews and knowing the superior quality of the VTech products, I chose this system. The phones are very beautiful and easy to set up and use. A few weeks later we added two more phones. Nothing with it. It's so great to have a phone anywhere there is an outlet to plug into the charging station. We have a phone in the basement and the reception is excellent. We have wireless internet access and it doesn't bother us. I really like the available ringtones. We set ours to a brrrrng muted, low tone - just enough for us to know the phone is ringing without waking the spiders. The battery life is also excellent. We made several long phone calls without the battery life dropping noticeably. So. Don't look back.
