A little nervous about buying a used/refurbished product. But the product was absolutely perfect. Exactly as pictured with everything that would have been in the box if new; Manual, two faceplates (one long and one short) and the card itself in a nice plastic case. . Immediately ready for use without much fuss; Plugged it in, installed drivers and everything works. The card itself is very beautiful. I love the Creative SBX studios, especially their "Night" option for smart volume (artificially balances the sound. Perfect for using cheap speakers at night.) I'm a bit of an audiophile and live at night, so I'm a lot sensitive to noise. . I have a Creative ZX for my main computer with headphones and I added it to a small living room multimedia box (movies, YouTube etc) with a pair of incompatible cheap speakers in a 5.1 setup (a set in one). socket, another in another). I'm not sure if there will be too much of a difference between this and the ZX. Unless you didn't know what to hear. My ZX is 4 years old and if it dies I will just switch to this one. Used in Windows 8.1. I wouldn't use it on Linux although I haven't tested it personally, the ZX doesn't have drivers so I don't expect Creative to develop drivers for it on Linux.
