I had to cash in all my pins after temporarily moving to another country for work and I have always loved bamboo pins. They have a good grip and your stitches won't slip off as easily as metal needles, plus they're a lot quieter. I really liked the middle part, it has a lot of really useful tools, but I wish there was a stitch and row counter on the measuring ruler like the Bates I have at home, but it does what I need . I really like the case, it's very comfortable and just keeps everything together. Now let's talk about needles. You can definitely tell it's not bamboo, they feel and smell like some kind of composite material, and some of them are deformed and have exaggerated curvature. I tried steaming them and that didn't work, resulting in me gluing blobs left over from gluing the end caps on. When steaming I was afraid I would melt the glue. In general the needles are not of very high quality but they feel durable and that is the main thing. I love how the measurements are printed on the side of the spokes so you don't have to guess every time. I think they're great for beginners, they're very light and the case makes this kit easy to use, but you'll probably want to invest in a better set of needles in the future as I see they wear out pretty quickly.
