Not as pictured in Sewing Tools

Thought I would get a selection of different models of this patch. All were made of the same fabric. I tried ironing the patch onto my torn shorts as suggested. After the first wash, the patch is already curling and peeling off at the edges. There were no instructions on how to apply. So I couldn't figure out if I did something wrong or if the product is just smaller than what is pictured.
