Changing belts and some tips for repairing your suction cup

Did a bit of searching but as one reviewer mentioned. These belts are part number 38528040. 40201190 is a new part number only. While my son was vacuuming, he accidentally caught something causing the brush to stop. Unfortunately the drive belt broke. I ordered this belt and it arrived in a few days. I replaced it and started sucking and you know what. I caught something and the strap broke again! Glad there were two packs. So I sat down and checked why it keeps snapping the belts, even new ones, and found that there was rust on the rod that drives the belt and it was very rough as a result. While this is good for driving the belts, every time the brush stops rotating during operation, it will stop the belt and the roughage will eat through the belt! The cure is to sand it down with sandpaper and make it smooth again. So I changed the belt again and guess what. I dug something up again! this time while smelling something like burnt rubber. the belt held together and after a while I could continue sucking. So when changing belts, check the driveshaft and make sure it's smooth so you don't have to buy new belts. Oh, and one more bagless vacuum tip, in case you notice it's not vacuuming as much as it used to. , Clean secondary and tertiary air filters. It's pretty easy and all you need is a Phillips screwdriver. that will restore suction like new. Hope that helps.
