Review on ☕️ AEROPRESS Coffee and Espresso Maker - Rapidly Brews Tasty Coffee Without Bitterness - Ideal for Brewing 1 to 3 Cups by Chris Crisler

My Perfect Americano

I first bought this 3 years ago and decided this was my way because I can make one cup at a time. After much experimentation, I decided on my personal method. I use Starbucks espresso beans, which you can buy in almost every supermarket. I've tried other brands like Peet's but personally I prefer the SB.2 espresso. I grind fresh beans to a very fine consistency every day.3. I use a 16oz mug.4. I pour a slightly rounded spoonful of grinds into the receiver.5. I pour 185 to 195F of water all the way to the bottom. I used boiling water before - big mistake. The best flavor comes from water at a lower temperature. You can buy a heater like Cuisinart with a built-in thermometer.6. Gently stir the water for at least 10 seconds. Along with the right water temperature, I think this step is crucial. Agitation allows the bases to settle (many of them float) and "bloom" as the water drains slowly. Proper stirring affects flavor more than any other step, and I think this is key to the flavor release this device creates - better than just dripping or squeezing. When the liquid goes down to the "o" in the AeroPress logo, I start to sink very slowly until it comes out all the way. This makes about 9 ounces of coffee, which I dilute with plenty of hot water to make 15 ounces of my perfect (for me) Americano.9. Because I use a fine grind, there may be residue on the rim of the cup, which I wipe off with a paper towel before drinking. My new set seems to use stronger plastic and I haven't had any problems. And I never use boiling water.
