Not only are they soft they are cute!
At first, I saw these socks and thought they were really childish. However, I got them anyways and I have no regrets. They are super soft and warm. I also have come to really enjoy the animals on the socks too, which I originally saw as ugly. I also really like how neutral the socks are so I wear them out of the house all the time. The grips on the bottom do work. I am on the clumsier side and have wood floors so soft socks like these can make you slip up, but I honestly haven't (yet) since owning them.
