Broke on first use

This is a very simple product. You attach one end to the dog's collar or harness and the other end goes into the belt buckle. However, it broke on the first use! My dog just rolled over in the passenger seat and as she lay down I grabbed the harness to make sure it wasn't putting too much strain on her collar and it broke completely! Now my dog is 50 pounds but he has not pulled the seat belt. I can see where the metal joins and there seems to be so little metal that I wonder if it will really survive a crash. The second one really held up, but I don't know if I trust the design. I'll probably go back and look for something better.
