Pros: Shoes offer more speed for the same effort and also have a springy/springy effect. They also felt like they were absorbing some of the impact. Cons: Shoes are uncomfortably tight at the toes. Not being able to deploy my toes as much as they should affects my running technique, which I previously struggled with. I measure 4.25 inches across my toes (widest width), barefoot, foot on the floor. I would not recommend it for beginners and people with wide feet. To me, anyone who does less than 15 miles a week is a beginner or casual runner. I was fine with regular Nike sneakers or barefoot Merrell.
