Works as advertised, uses night lights. Three bases with 17 inches between bases. Mine came with bulbs built in. The wires are a bit thinner so I wouldn't put more than 5W bulbs in the chain. I've replaced incandescent bulbs with LEDs so I'm not worried. A note for those using them in pottery villages: they have two tabs mounted on them to help hold the base in place in the village. Some of the protrusions that went into the device were too wide to fit through the holes in the floor of the houses so I had to take needle nose pliers and bend the ends of the inner parts of the protrusions inwards then they worked fine.
