I struggle with curling irons. I find them more difficult to use than traditional single-barrel curling irons to hold the hair in place. However, I still prefer a stick as it leaves no ruffled edges. This wand works exceptionally well. It heats up to 450 degrees in just 15 seconds and the 1.25 inch body is perfect for creating beachy waves. The ceramic body makes my hair shiny and natural. I gave this curling iron 4 stars (instead of 5 stars) for two reasons. First, it doesn't have a retractable "stand" to elevate the curling iron above the surface of the table or countertop during the cool down period. On some surfaces, the stem can potentially damage or melt the countertop because it's so close. Second, the glove that comes with this curling iron is very thin and if I have to hold the curling iron for a few seconds my hand starts to burn. Considering the quality of this curling iron, I would have expected gloves of the same quality.
