It is very stretchy and fits comfortably after removing the shorts underneath. This is easy to do with scissors or a seam ripper without breaking anything. I took a medium size as it runs small (I'm very skinny) and was very tight and low waisted with the shorts. Too big for me without shorts. The skirt is made of elastic fabric, so the creases smooth out when washed. Ironing will fix this, but be VERY careful as it's made of plastic. It's a good length, no risk of anything coming out, the shorts were pretty much unnecessary and poorly cut. The rest of the skirt is very good. It looks really cool with a belt but I want to clarify that this skirt looks just like the pictures, it DOES NOT have belt loops, the belt just sits on top so it needs to be tight enough to hold it's position. The embroidery is pleasant, but could be additionally fastened if you are nervous.
