The description says that the app is not needed and that is partly true. I have a Samsung Android spreadsheet and I can only view files using the built-in file manager. Gallery or the Google Photos app will not work with an external SD card. The file manager works, but you cannot switch to the next image. You select and view a thumbnail, then return to the thumbnail and select another. Basically useless if you view a lot of photos from the camera.
