As someone else said, upon closer inspection it looks like plastic. but it's plastic! I would really like to have at least 1 step between the hours so you can determine the half hour as roman numerals don't all occupy the same space so it can be a bit difficult to guess the time when it's 8:30. hours or 9:00 a.m. Even better would be 3 steps so that you can determine the quarter of an hour. but on the other hand you get a sense of the time and it's not meant to be a serious watch anyway!
