It could be a big win if the instructions were much clearer.

Instructions weren't that clear. But it worked because Scobie is really healthy and strong. So that alone is a big win. I'm a first time brewer so I really think these instructions could be a lot clearer. It didn't say much about adding flavors and doing a second fermentation and bottling for flavors.
