Quickly and efficiently divides my annual cherry harvest into pie fillings. I find it helpful to use my left hand to feed the cherries in a line through the pitter while driving the plunger with my right hand. I don't expect it to catch all the holes. Pitted cherries are served on a plastic tray; When it's full, I use both hands to check and manually remove any remaining seeds before transferring them to a tin pot. This two-part process is pretty quick. This device is easy to clean and overall very user friendly.
